The Little Cross I Wear

The Little Cross I Wear
By Arlene Spanos

The little cross I wear is a symbol of
God’s mercy, grace and His amazing love.

It’s not a fashion statement nor a good luck charm.
It is not for superstition to keep me from harm.

It symbolizes the sacrifice Jesus made to save me
By giving up His life on the cross at Calgary.

He alone accomplished what I could never do
He took my sins away so I could start my life new.

I’m so grateful for what He did for me.
He removed my shame and has set me free.

It reminds me to walk by faith for all my days,
And to follow and imitate Him and all of His ways.

I accepted His grace and I’ve asked Him to be
Lord of my life and hope others too will see.

This little cross represents my devotion and love,
For my Wonderful Savior and Father above.

It helps me think of my blessings each day.
And remember God’s grace in the words that I say.

It’s my reminder to aspire to be humble and true.
And consider His mercy in everything that I do.

This cross represents the commitment I’ve made
Because of the ransom that Jesus has paid.

So whenever I look at or touch my cross,
I think of my Lord, and thank Him I am not lost.
