"Days will come in Christianity in which they will try to reduce the salvific event to a mere series of values."
Even wondered how the Antichrist would be like? The book of Revelation described the Antichrist as "The Beast" that insulted God yet had many followers, for the beast performed miracles and deceived everyone. It even had a number representation, which is 666 (Revelation 13 : 1 - 18)
Yet, as we see the world today, it could be that the Antichrist is the reduction of Christianity to an ideology, instead of a personal encounter with the Savior.
In a world that has become less tolerant and more politically correct, we see conflicts in churches and their people on what should or should not be accepted. Are homosexuals acceptable? What about abortion? Does God forgive those who have commited adultery? Can a Christian practise Feng Shui?
What's right and what's wrong, it has all become relative. Some churches, in a bid to gather as many people as possible, may bent into pressure just to "be acceptable" by their church goers. If the Church continues to say no, people will move around till they find a church, or another religion that has the same beliefs and values as theirs.
This is the reason why there are so many cults that claim they preach the word of God, but are actually have practices that contradict the Word of God. Or that many other cults with their own set of values, without even having Christ as the focus.
What is Christianity without Christ in it? What happens to Jesus?
"Today, in fact, we run the risk of having a Christianity which puts aside Jesus with his cross and resurrection."
This is the time now to be vigilant and aware, for we need to have patience, endurance and faith in the Lord that he is doing the right thing, so we can be with Him in Heaven. It will not be easy, for we have so many distractions. We must always look towards the Lord, and walk together with him. He will shine down a path for us so that we will not stray, but we must always have faith in Him.
"I am the first and the last," says the Lord God Almighty, who is, who was, and who is to come" (Revelation 1 : 8)
