Narnia

I finished the whole 6 books of The Chronicles of Narnia in two weeks (coz my brother is supposed to bring that book over to Manchester, and I wanted to finish it in time for the movie release.)

It is truly amazing how C.S Lewis writes these books, and how strong the hints are linked to Christinity. I guess probably I was very concious about locating that resemblance while reading the books, due to Lewis' most famous Christian book "Mere Christianity".

The potrayal of Aslan clearly reminds me of the Lion mentioned in the Bible, ans also as Christ Himself, for in the book "The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe" where he was killed, but then was risen again, and became more powerful than ever. Also, in "The Magician's Nephew" we see Aslan as the Creator of Narnia.

Even the characters themselves reminds us of the people we read in the Bible. In my opinion, Lucy is the faithful follower, she is like a child, who never questions what Aslan says or do. Peter is the High King, who resembles St. Peter himself. Edmund reminds me of the great apostle Paul, who at first lead Aslan to his death, but later repented and became a great King himself. I relate this to Paul as Paul himself tried to bring Christianity down, but after facing God, he repented and became one of the greatest apostle to spread the Word of God. Susan is like the people who do not believe in Christ. As one scene describes this. When Lucy sees Aslan and follows him, only Susan was the last one who could see Him, because she never believed in Him and Narnia in the first place.

Every character can be related somehow to the Bible, no matter how descreet the role is. I truly love the final book The Last Battle, for it is like Revelations, but a story put so beautifully, I was really inspired to know Christ better, and my faith in God strenghten. As how the last word put it - what happens after Narnia is the Great Story where everything is better each time - Just like what God has promised to us in the 2nd coming.
